NEW LEADERSHIP AT TUPELO SCHOOLS Tupelo Public School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Sarah Bills as the new Superintendent for the 2026-27 school year, and Mr. Dustin Romines as the Principal for grades 6-12. Current Superintendent Kevin Mann, who is retiring after 40 years in education, announced these appointments following the Tupelo Board of Education meeting on February 23rd, where the board unanimously voted in favor of hiring Bills and Romines for these leadership roles.

Sarah Bills, a 23-year veteran in education, has spent the last four years as the 6th-12th grade principal at Tupelo. She is a 1999 graduate of Tupelo and has taught at Tupelo, Stonewall and Atoka.

Mr. Romines, a 2000 Tupelo graduate, has been with Tupelo Schools for the past seven years as a history teacher and coach, previously spending a year in the same capacity at Calvin. He successfully led the 2023 Tupelo Lady Tiger softball team to the Class B fastpitch state championship and two softball academic state championships.

Mann expressed confidence in the board's decision, stating, "In my opinion, the Tupelo Board of Education did a great job of hiring the future leadership team for Tupelo Schools. Mrs. Bills and Mr. Romines are ideal for our school. As Tupelo graduates, they have a deep commitment to our students, staff, and community. I am confident they will bring energy, innovation, and enthusiasm at a time when our school is on the move, advancing Tupelo Schools to heights it has not achieved in years."

Sarah Bills and Dustin Romines will begin their new roles on July 1st.
