Tupelo Town Song

TUPELO TOWN SONG

(Tune to Red River Valley)

Long ago in this part of Oklahoma,
Miners came, built a town and dug for coal.
This was only the start of a vision;
Settlers stayed and they called it Tupelo.

Now we're all so afraid for our children,
Yet we stand back and say, "Oh how sad."
If we'd only all work hard together...
We could have the best town to be had!

So as long as we live, we will struggle...
To provide life that's good for our town.
We will work till we've licked any trouble...
Folks will say, "You're the best town around!"

Tupelo Song: Written by Jim Inman and Cara Lynn Ingram @ our community meeting in 1977.
