In the early 50's, the fog got really thick so a plane was forced to land on Old Highway 3 near Kansy Johnson's Hilltop Station.

Only two walls were left standing after a fire had destroyed a garage and a theater at Tupelo Thursday night. The theater was nearest the camera and the garage was located between the theater and the far wall. The damage was estimated at $10,000. -- (News Staff Photo).
